Absolute power is what people fear most

AFTER reading what Darshan Singh and MZB wrote in the Forum dated 2nd December 2012, I have come to a conclusion as to what I would like to see in the next Government.

For the past 55 years the Alliance and later BN government had done a lot of good for the country.

However, as the country progressed the leaders in the government began to get complacent which later led to greediness for power and riches.

As a developing country, we need to earn and spend a lot of money and Malaysia is by no means a poor country. Did all the country's riches corrupted our politicians or did our politicians corrupted the country's richest? whichever way it goes it... grew and became a very dangerous disease that had gotten worse by the day.

Nothing effective was done to arrest the disease until March 2008, when the rakyat felt that the ruling government had taken them for granted.

so the votes went to the opposition in the hope that a stronger opposing voice could wake up an arrogant government.

True enough, after almost 5 years of strong opposition in Parliament, we are now hearing more of the Rakyat been mentioned and taken note of by the BN ruling "Lord" whenever they appear in public or when they give their usual small talk! So a stronger opposition in Parliament is definitely good for the rakyat.

At the moment we can only hope for a balanced government i.e. one that has a strong check and balance and not one that has absolute power, because we cannot see a strong team from either the BN or PR.

There are still too many 'Jokers' and down right sickening politicians in both camps.
