WE would like to bring to the attention of the Director of the Public Works Department (PWD) the state of affairs in Keningau with regard to road maintenance.
We are referring in particular to the stretch of road starting from the Tanah Merah transformer station, passing through the PPRT housing estate, Kg Palapikan, Kg Bangau and right through to the national park grounds.
The last maintenance was done on 24 Oct 2012. I understand that the maintenance work is supposed to be done once every six months.
We urge the Director to come personally to see and judge for himself whether the so-called maintenance work done was up to the standard.
As far as we residents along this stretch of road are concerned, the work was definitely not satisfactory.
It does not take a rocket scientist to know that the work was not up to standard.
In fact, it made the road worse. Better again before the maintenance.
We ever applied for the road to be sealed but each time the PWD gave the same answer - to be forwarded and will be included in the next Malaysia Plan.
But Plan after Plan has come and gone but the road has still not been sealed.
Even our children have grown up already!
And to think that the Keningau MP is in charge of roads!
